Conditions of Entry for the Deepwater Art Space A New Space on the Wall
Delivery of Works - Entries to be delivered 9 September between 10 am to 12noon
Collection of Works - Entries must be collected on Saturday 13 Oct between 1 - 4pm.
1. Eligibility
This exhibition is open to members of the public, and our artists, wishing to resell artworks they have previously purchased and no longer wish to keep. The purpose of the exhibition is to give pre-loved artworks an opportunity to find a new home.
2. Resale Only
This exhibition is specifically for the resale of artworks previously purchased by the entrant. Artists may not enter and sell their own original artworks.
3. Number of Entries
Each entrant may submit a maximum of two framed artworks, plus up to three unframed artworks.
4. Artwork Price
The maximum sale price for any artwork is $999, inclusive of 20% commission.
5. Artwork Size
The maximum permitted artwork size is 120 cm × 120 cm. Of the two framed artworks entered, only one may be of the maximum/large size. The second framed artwork must be smaller than 120 cm × 120 cm. 3D sculptures are accepted.
6. Condition of Framed Artworks
All artworks must be presented in good, clean and saleable condition. Paintings and frames must be well maintained and free from damage and have D-rings and hanging wire. The reverse of the artwork, including the frame and backing, must be clean and completely free of mould.
7. Unframed Artworks
Up to three unframed artworks may be submitted. Unframed artworks must be securely backed with a suitable rigid material, such as coreflute, foamcore or matboard, and must be cellophane wrapped to protect the artwork and provide a clean, professional presentation. Maximum size, a full sheet of watercolour paper, ie: 56×76cm.
8. Artwork Identification
Entrants must ensure that each artwork is clearly identifiable. If an artwork is not already labelled and identifiable, the entrant must attach a label to the back showing the artist's name, title of the artwork and sale price, and your name and phone number.
9. Right to Refuse an Entry
Deep Water Art Space (DWAS) reserves the right to refuse or reject any artwork that is considered damaged, poorly presented, unsuitable for exhibition, or does not meet these Terms & Conditions. DWAS's decision is final. No mass produced prints will be accepted – ie Ikea, Freedom, Kmart, and lifestyle store type of prints.
10. Commission
DWAS will retain a 20% commission on the sale price of each artwork sold during the exhibition.
11. Risk and Responsibility
All artworks are entered and exhibited at the participant's own risk. DWAS will take reasonable care of artworks while they are in its possession but accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to artworks submitted for the exhibition.
12. Entry Acceptance and Exhibition Capacity
Entries will be accepted on a first-in, first-served basis. DWAS reserves the right to close entries early if the available exhibition space is filled.
13. Responsibility for Presentation
Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their artworks are correctly presented, securely framed or packaged as required, and ready for exhibition and sale at the time of delivery.
14. Collection of Works
It is the entrant’s responsibility to collect their works once the exhibition concludes. No paintings will be stored once exhibition is completed. A fee may be charged for late collection.
