Kim lawson
Kim Lawson is an artist based on the Central Coast NSW whose creative practice is steeped in multi-disciplinary approaches and reinventive imagination.
Through her sublime collage and mixed media assemblage works, she reconstructs found materials to create artworks that are a hybrid representation of the world we inhabit. By curating discarded and recycled objects and their accompanying narratives, Lawson attempts to create a new visual language that can convey personal meaning, while also providing essential commentary on the current state of our society. Her art is a celebration of the fantastical potential that lies within the mundane and the everyday, making visible the beauty of discarded materials that are often overlooked – a timely conversation for our era of huge consumerism.
