My artistic process is grounded in observation and response. I am particularly drawn to local landmarks, which I often paint en plein air using dynamic, gestural marks and a range of immediate mediums, such as ink, gouache, pastels, and pencil on paper.
These works often reveal themselves through a spontaneous flow of energy, sometimes a gust of wind will influence my brushstroke or sand adds texture to a beach scene. The rawness of this process reflects my connection to the landscape and my need to create.
