Jennifer reid

I work both an plein air and in the studio, mainly in 2D but have also made a variety of small 3D objects. My subjects include face and figure, urban and harbour scenes and more recently the natural world, especially birds.

For my urban works I am inspired by patterns of repeated forms as well as the intriguing compositions made by shadows or the juxtaposition of old and new. I aim to create a dialogue between representation and abstraction across all my paintings, drawings and mixed media works.
